Bereavement, as well as all sorts of other losses, brings us to turning points in our lives. Other relationships and our daily activities shift and change to accommodate the space that a loss has created.
Past experiences of loss may come into sharp focus again. Our mood may be unpredictable and our ability to pick up the threads of every-day life may vary from day to day.
Those we love will naturally be hoping for signs of our return to our ‘usual self’. We may find ourselves striving to seem recovered so as not to disappoint them or cause them anxiety.
